Sophia Pascual

Student, Inday

Sophia "Inday" Pascual is a senior student in  College of Education, Major in Preschool Education in The University of Santo Tomas. I entered the field of teaching for simply the love of teaching. Passion has brought me here.

Inday is what I call myself in this blog. Inday is a common name used for a woman in the Philippines. Unfortunately, it usually connotes a figure of someone weak and low  to some nowadays with which I wanted to witness breakthrough. Inday in this field is a strong, independent woman who fought the life of a student away from home but surprisingly found another one here in Indonesia. Follow me as I take the never ending footsteps of a teacher.

This is Inday's Sojourn

NEVER ENDING FOOTSTEPS

People would say that an Inday is meant to be in a home cleaning rooms, washing the dishes, taking care of young ones of other people, or simply being a servant. But no,  being an Inday means, being strong-willed and independent. Yes, true enough, and Inday is capable of doing a lot of things. doing things that most people cannot do because they are dependent. And because of that, they never learned a skill, an Inday knows. Among everyone, an Inday is the most wonderful character you could ever have. A character with humility, strength, and perseverance. This is why an Inday has the never ending footsteps in life because they go on with life, doing great things not to survive, not for financial matters alone, but because they are willing to move forward and learn along the way.

And more than just the fact that I wanted to use the character of an Inday in this blog because I wanted to face a breakthrough, I wanted to also believe that anyone can be an Inday. Anyone, willing to be humble, and strong is capable of being an Inday. And I hope and pray to be one. To learn how to be one.

Inday's never ending footsteps reached the land of Indonesia. I reached this land. I set foot on this land, I left this land but still, Inday's never ending footsteps continues. I am Sophia Pascual, walking in the land of this world supporting the character of Inday.

To where I am about to go, Inday will always be in my heart. Inday is my heart. Inday is I.

This is my never ending footsteps.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

PARENTS (Erwin and Luz Pascual)

To my parents, who allowed me to witness and experience being an exchange student in Indonesia, thank you very much. Letting me leave home is a hard thing to decide on but still letting me leave home made me live a life outside home. And to tell you, when I came back, I did not just missed home, but I appreciated it even more. I am rest assured that when I come back,I truly say, "There's no place like home."

Mama, and Papa, thank you.

GOD

To my Abba, Father. Thank you for this season that you have entrusted and planted in my life. Thank you for writing a great story in my life. Your presence and words have not just given me life but it is my life. Thank you that you let me know you even more in another country. You my Father has brought me to what reality is, that no matter where I am, You still remain the same. You have turned my mourning to dancing. I love you, Abba.
